Uncovering Value and Meaning Through Engagement

Across The Johnson Group companies, our team members find fulfillment by having fun and giving back.

SPARK’s Fall Social

On Thursday, October 24, SPARK hosted their Fall Social event at Underpin Lanes ‘N Lounge, a new boutique bowling venue in downtown Spartanburg. Invited guests were given an exclusive sneak peek of the venue, which was not yet open to the public, and sampled several of the items from the venue’s new restaurant. The Fall Social allowed associates from all three companies to network while relaxing in the lounge area, bowling, or playing arcade games.

United Way

Each year Johnson Group companies participate in an annual United Way Campaign, harnessing the collective efforts of our teams to support fundamental programs and services that work to better our communities and provide a higher quality of life to friends and neighbors. Annual Campaigns for JDA and OTO will begin in December with a kick-off event held at the AC Hotel in Spartanburg.

ACA ran their campaign during the month of September and continues to make a tremendous difference in the lives of those in need in the Spartanburg and Atlanta communities. During the campaign, ACA associates donated $185,336 to the United Way in Spartanburg and Atlanta, raising $17,336 over their total goal and setting an all-time ACA record for donation amount. The United Way turns every dollar donated into $9.46 worth of benefit for those in need. Thanks to the generosity of our associates, ACA created a community impact of over $1.75M! More to come following JDA’s and OTO’s campaigns in December.

Overflow Thanksgiving

Through a collective effort of all three companies, The Johnson Group filled 486 bags with Thanksgiving meals for families this month. Thank you for your generous contributions!

Habitat for Humanity Build Project

The Johnson Group’s Habitat for Humanity home build is well underway. Since breaking ground in August, dozens of ACA associates have volunteered their time to contribute to the construction of the new home at 500 North Forest Street in Spartanburg.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity in Spartanburg in their effort to help members of our community have access to quality, affordable housing,” says Dana Gottman, Sr. Vice President of Human Resources. “Not surprisingly, our team members have rallied behind this opportunity to volunteer for this important initiative.”
