More than 320 Spartanburg families were provided with boxes of groceries this Thanksgiving season as a result of the generosity and teamwork of associates across The Johnson Group.
Each year, United Way spearheads a community-wide effort to assist families who need a little extra help during the holiday season. Taking place just before Thanksgiving, the Overflow Food Drive engages individuals and companies across the Spartanburg community to fill boxes with non-perishable pantry staples like oatmeal, canned soups and vegetables, pasta and pasta sauce, and cereal bars. With 1 in 3 families across Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties unable to afford their basic needs, the provision of these food supplies helps families put their money toward other necessities, like rent or transportation.
Susan England, who leads JDA’s involvement in United Way Overflow, says, “I am constantly amazed by how our team pulls together in partnership with one another to go above and beyond to help our neighbors in our community during the holiday season. It is a pleasure to be a part of such an impactful effort that helps so many.”
Across all three of the companies, our team members rallied together to give of their time and their resources to help those in need. Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to make this year’s Overflow Food Drive so impactful.
