From 5K runs and Habitat for Humanity builds to SPARK lunches, members of The Johnson Group have been busy supporting their communities and each other.
SPARK’s RunDowntown 5K
SPARK held its first annual RunDowntown 5K Event this spring. Starting and ending in the heart of downtown Spartanburg, more than 100 runners and walkers took to the streets to benefit Partners for Active Living and the Keep OneSpartanburg Beautiful project. More than $3,000 was raised to contribute to these worthy causes.
SPARK Networking Lunches
SPARK not only works to connect our communities, but also grows a culture of engagement across our family of companies. Each quarter, SPARK offers
associates the opportunity to interact with fellow colleagues over lunch. These lunches are open to the first 40 participants who RSVP.
“While expanding one’s personal network, the lunches are a great opportunity to learn more about The Johnson Group, share best practices across the companies, and try new food from local favorites,” says Henry Grimball, a JDA representative on the SPARK team. To get involved, be on the lookout for sign-ups for the August 22 lunch.
Habitat for Humanity Build Project
Spurred by enthusiastic requests from ACA associates, The Johnson Group has formed a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg to sponsor the build of a home located at 500 North Forest Street in Spartanburg. As part of this sponsorship, ACA associates will contribute the majority of the volunteer hours needed to complete the construction of the Habitat home. The home is projected to be complete in late fall of 2019.
This will be the first Habitat house that The Johnson Group has sponsored in its entirety. Last fall, The Johnson Group partnered with other local corporations to sponsor a home through Habitat for Humanity’s “CEO Build.”
